Mr. Jatin Somawala Regional Head, Surat Region, UltraTech Cement delivered an encouraging speech and to motivate the Participants. Mr. Manjunath Digital Cell, Mumbai UltraTech also addressed the gathering on this occasion and gave back ground of this One Day National Workshop. He focused on Ready Mix Concrete.
There are three general method of producing ¤ Transit or Truck mixing ¤ Central Mixing ¤ Shrink Mix. The workshop intended to enhance the robust collaboration between the Industry-Academia which will augur well for our developing economy enabling innovations, growth in the education system. Keynote Speaker : 1 Mr. Manjunath Digital Cell, Mumbai UltraTech gave a presentation on Ready Mix Concrete. Concrete is one of the major components of a structure, particularly a multistoried structure, where in it accounts for 30% – 50% of the total cost. The quality of concrete has also a very direct bearing a on the strength & durability of the structure as a whole. It is in this context that RMC assumes relevance. Shri Dashrath Ji mainly focused on The importing and exporting activity of a country can influence the country’s GDP, its exchange rate, and its level of inflation and interest rates.  A country’s importing and exporting activity can influence its GDP, its exchange rate, and its level of inflation and interest rates.  A rising level of imports and a growing trade deficit can have a negative effect on a country’s exchange rate.  A weaker domestic currency stimulates exports and makes imports more expensive; conversely, a strong domestic currency hampers exports and makes imports cheaper.  Higher inflation can also impact exports by having a direct impact on input costs such as materials and labor. Ready-mixed concrete is used in construction projects where the construction site is not willing, or is unable, to mix concrete on site. Using ready-mixed concrete means product is delivered finished, on demand, in the specific quantity required, in the specific mix design required. For a small to medium project, the cost and time of hiring mixing equipment, labour, plus purchase and storage for the ingredients of concrete, added to environmental concerns (cement dust is an airborne health hazard) may simply be not worthwhile when compared to the cost of ready-mixed concrete, where the customer pays for what they use, and allows others do the work up to that point. For a large project, outsourcing concrete production to ready-mixed concrete suppliers means delegating the quality control and testing, material logistics and supply chain issues and mix design, to specialists who are already established for those tasks, trading off against introducing another contracted external supplier who needs to make a profit, and losing the control and immediacy of on-site mixing.
This One Day Workshop was well attended by about @ 95 participants mainly students & faculties from engineering colleges, corporate members, etc. & non corporate members, researcher, private & government organization, industrialist attended this workshop with a feeling of eagerness to learn something new and important for their research work with active participation.
